This first one is a reflection taken whilst having lunch at Pringle Bay. There is a lady there whom we know as Granny as she is the spitting image of Woodys granny and so she got adopted as such. We also met her daughter in law Julie who is also lovely, chatty and generous in their hospitality
Woody had a burger and I had a smoked salmon salad that also had deep fried halloumi in it. I might not deep fry mine but we've got some that we smoked that I shall fry and have with a salad yum!
This uninteresting shot is of a house that is being built with polystyrene. They seem to have made giant blocks of it and were sticking it together with concrete. It has a domed shape and will definitely be interesting if nothing else.
By chance on the day of the royal wedding Woody and I had arranged a bike ride out with friend Jacques and some of his friends. Woody and I started with breakfast at the Peregrine farmstall which was one of the best breakfasts of the holiday and were joined by the others later for coffee. We took a scenic route to Greyton via Genadendal where we stopped and went in to the museum
There. The museum has struggled to acquire government funding but good links with Robbin island have so far kept it open.
It was full of all sorts of intriguing things. The town was originally a mission post. They had lots of old equipment but also a room with different clocks like a candle
Clock and a sand clock and then another room would be about clothing and another room was full of old tools such as lathes. There were several buildings you could go in including the old print works

The church which we couldn't go in today but a nice backdrop to our bikes
Then it was on to Greyton for lunch where they had a lovely chocolate shop and some interesting wall art and a bath

We sat outside enjoying the weather but it seemed that the rest of Greyton was inside to watch the royal wedding being screened. We all saw bits of it but only because the toilets were through the room everyone was in to watch the wedding! Excuse me... excuse us
Then it was a high speed ride back to Cape Town for Jacques who had to be back by 3 (only possible with time travel) to help wife Isobel prepare for a BBQ party at 4. Two others went on to Robertson another town for someone else's party. We found out later there had been a problem with their bike and they'd managed to get a scooter battery which had just enough power to get them home.
Lunch at Avontuur which was a recommendation by friends
Fab food only it was a long drive there and back

This was a walk through town after meeting someone for coffee. The tree lined streets are only in a few places and are lovely

We walked from home to the reserve then up the side of the mountains to the contour path

We walked along the contour path back along the mountains past home which can be seen on the other side of he golf course and along into town where we were kindly collected

It was home to cook dinner of pork chops which all worked out perfectly. Must try again here and if the weather holds we have lots of bbqs planned.
