A Dorset Diary

Some more snaps from our whirlwind week in Dorset...

A caramel water warming on a mug of coffee to brace us before we headed out to...

Melbury Osmund...

For a winters walk
IMG_0752.JPG
A place we walked and cycled a lot when we were young...
The first ford of the holiday
IMG_0754.JPG

Splish splosh... despite the time of year it was not very deep
IMG_0755.JPG

In a very picturesque village
IMG_0756.JPG

Shut your eyes it's rude... ankles on display and in public!
IMG_0758.JPG

A long drive to ones country home (yes we walked it all) to the big house of the Honorable (apparently) Charlotte Townsend
IMG_0760.JPG

The source of the stream for the ford and believe it or not there are several deer in this photo
IMG_0762.JPG

Behaving ourselves as usual
IMG_0764.JPG

The stile at the other end of the Ilchester estate
IMG_0768.JPG

Interesting gate posts at the main entrance
IMG_0770.JPG

And we spotted a fox on the gates
IMG_0771.JPG

The lane onwards was lined
IMG_0773.JPG

On one side with a stone wall...
IMG_0775.JPG

And the other held up by tree roots
IMG_0776.JPG
We had left one car at this end of the walk so we then drove back from the far end of the walk to the start to collect the other car.

IMG_0779.JPGA trip into Dorchester meant poor Woody had to look at upholstery fabrics to recover the red chairs we had acquired from my brother

IMG_0780.JPG
Apparently they are measured in rubs... who knew?!

IMG_0781.JPG
We looked at velvets

IMG_0783.JPG
And birdies in hats

IMG_0784.JPG
And one for the hunting and shooting brigade

IMG_0786.JPG

And ended up with this luxurious red and it only took two visits to the shop to decide! Now all mum has to do is assemble the chairs Hehe The final purchase happening before seeing Paddington 2 at the cinema which is brilliant if you get the chance.
Love to all and more anon
