Footprints in the sand

Saturday morning is market day...

IMG_1320.JPG

There are some interesting things for sale...
IMG_1321.JPG
Though we think these are unlikely to be squirrel proof as this is not something that is over here so they don't have to be so ingenious and stopping them
Getting to the bird food

IMG_1324.JPG
Brekkie was shared - kudu burger and cheese and bacon omelette

IMG_1325.JPG
I had my first iron brew ever but haven't had he real iron Bru for years as it has caffeine in it. No idea if this tastes anything like the real stuff and it's not so nuclear orange but it was sweet and had a nice flavour

IMG_1327.JPG
For those who've been up a while there is wine for breakfast

IMG_1328.JPG
But I stuck to the soft drinks. Apparently it must go straight in the fridge.

IMG_1329.JPG
There is lots of food and drink and crafts for sale as well as fruit and veg and other goodies. We make this a regular stop

IMG_1331.JPG
Afterwards we were off on the bike. Woody just stopped to do some adjustments. We took all dirt roads to Napier

IMG_1332.JPG
The road vegind

IMG_1333.JPG
And the road ahead
It wasn't particularly exciting but we did see a couple of troops of baboons who all vacated at the sound of the engine and a tortoise crossing the road.

IMG_1335.JPG
A strange earthwork. It looks like it was formed by water but it would've been a while back for that much water in this area

IMG_1336.JPG
The plane tree trying to look like a rhino. There were weaver bird nests high up in these tress

IMG_1340.JPG
We stopped off at a farm stall for a drink. The sparletta superberry drink was toxic red and reminded me of panda pops

IMG_1341.JPG
Grenadilla (passion fruit) tart and rocky road with garlic flowers as decoration

IMG_1342.JPG
It's very quirky and full of old stuff hung up for display

IMG_1343.JPG
Here we be!

IMG_1346.JPG
The evening found us back on Grotto beach with the hounds

IMG_1347.JPG
Woof

IMG_1348.JPG

IMG_1351.JPG
Sunday morning was to he united reformed church though not all attended as seen by the hangliders over the mountains

IMG_1353.JPG
Lunch was with friends at a place called Mariana's in Stanford a nearby town

IMG_1354.JPG
Smile... like you mean it

IMG_1356.JPG
Beautiful flowers

IMG_1357.JPG
Lovely displays everywhere

IMG_1361.JPG
I had a springbok rillette followed by springbok pie which looked like a pasty but was full of meat then this chocolate cup

IMG_1362.JPG
And mint tea

IMG_1364.JPG
The garden from where the good things spring from

IMG_1365.JPG
And looking back towards the restaurant. It's changing hands soon so will become a new venture

IMG_1368.JPG
Another walk on Grotto to try and combat all the good food!

IMG_1369.JPG
We are not alone...

IMG_1371.JPG
