Walker at Walkers

Proof that I was up! And bear in mind that we are 2 hours ahead of our usual uk time so really up at 4.33

To join a local walking group who do walks 3 days a week. It turns out it's more a group who walk for fitness rather than pleasure as it were so it tends to be pretty fast. The routes are the same each time but different to each other on the Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The first walk Woody disappeared off with the speedies but I was more measured in my pace (!) and chatted with a lady who spends half her year in Europe and half here.

Sun shines on the old harbour

And a quick shop to buy the last things needed for our English afternoon tea that we hosted...a variety of hams and a spelling lesson required....

Lunch in town meant.... good views

A stroll round town and we passed this stall... some may remember photos of or have seen our tray which is done by this local artist. Glad we got ours when we did because whilst I like the butler holding umbrella theme
I love our du vin, du pain et du Boursin version
https://youtu.be/QCp1BBEOlI0 there were a whole series of adverts for this in the uk which I really liked...

A selection of the trays. Apparently the store holder doesn't get any choice over what stock paintings she gets so it's always a surprise

And back at home preparing a small steak to be cooked on the BBQ

Another day another breakfast... at Betty Blou
IMG_1396.JPG
I had the yellow breakfast which came with corn fritters, scrambled egg and yellow tomatoes

IMG_1397.JPG
Woody had eggs benedict with bacon

IMG_1398.JPG
And the other option which was with smoked trout

The outside of the bistro

IMG_1400.JPG
We walked back along the coast path

IMG_1401.JPG
And saw these which were new to us

IMG_1402.JPG
These trees with hanging roots remind me of similar trees in hong kong

IMG_1403.JPG
A table spread for Afternoon Tea we were joined by several friends from SA and it was lovely

IMG_1404.JPG
Ham and mustard, cucumber and salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, cheese scones, almond macaroons, build yourself a scone and cream with three kinds of jam, Victoria sponge cake and cheesecake stuffed strawberries and raspberries and a Banting diet alternative which is about low carbs and sugar but I don't think it's got to the uk under that name at least

IMG_1407.JPG
The day finished with a walk on the beach were we found this jelly fish? Or possibly a leaving by a jelly dog

IMG_1408.JPG
This tree is opposite M&d which is covered with pink berries

IMG_1409.JPG
And small fluffy flowers

Off for lunch now xxx
