Ermeni Monastery

We went along the coast and went to the Golf Club for a posh coffee...

Nice views back along the mountains...

Yup, definitely a golf club...

We wound our way up along a mountain road...
IMG_0211.JPG

Lots of winding...
IMG_0214.JPG

To here... last time we went we were able to go past the gate and drive down but sadly for us it was padlocked this time...
IMG_0215.JPG

So we walked, passing this unknown specimen on the way...
IMG_0217.JPG

We didn't stick to the road all the way as it zigzagged down the mountain but cut across taking this footpath which seems to run along the entire mountain Range...
IMG_0220.JPG

The air is clear as the lichen shows...

We love this place, an old Greek Orthodox monastery which has a very special feel. Last time we were here it was later in the season and the ripe lemons we picked were actually sweet. They were still green this time and we might have picked some to ripen at home...
IMG_0223.JPG

Cicada skins we think...

Eating freshly picked lemons....

Lizzie...

This secluded monastery nestled in a private valley in the mountains has such an atmosphere....very special

You have to go out and up to see the sea. It really is very self contained.
Seed heads
IMG_0234.JPG

Fascinating beauty in the ruins...
IMG_0238.JPG

Where's Woody? Ok you can't see him here but the tree at the top was being rustled by him as he tried to reach the larger lemons...
IMG_0240.JPG
The old floors are incredible (remember these)....

IMG_0243.JPG

Evidence of electricity so not as rustic as it first appears!
IMG_0249.JPG

And after a climb back up the mountain we went along to one of the many picnic sites which are everywhere...
IMG_0252.JPG

And yes, even here up a mountain there are cats to be found...
IMG_0258.JPG

One even ate the lettuce we tipped out.

More cats to come ๐Ÿ˜€

Love w&b ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ
