Salamis is not just a sausage

This is the view from our bedroom window. At night St Hilarion castle at the very top is floodlit

When we were in Cyprus last time this reservoir was just being filled. A new engineering technology was being used to float an underwater pipeline over from Turkey to pipe in fresh water for use on the island. If you're into that sort of thing it's worth looking up

Woody ignoring the view and investigating the air filter for the air conditioning... why now?!

We stopped off at a ruined Greek Orthodox Church. Just down the way the call to prayer was starting at the mosque...

Graffiti...

Inside the church was full of pigeons...

A strange phenomenon where snails have got to the top of plants and it's so hot they should have cooked but I have heard snails can sleep for several years....
IMG_0307.JPG

They were everywhere
IMG_0312.JPG

We walked a long way to outlying ruins but the snails got there first
IMG_0314.JPG

A beautiful mosaic floor, we also walked down to the beach from here  too...

Where's Woody?

And back to go out for dinner with friends- more meze and Cypriot foods. I am planning to have a go at some of the meze as they tasted amazing...
