Squeezing the car in...
Checking the windscreen wipers are correctly positioned..
The runway comes in over the car park. Brave people who park there...
On the bus to the terminal
Having shopped we stopped for a snackette
For those that missed the news BA had a major IT crash the Saturday before we flew. All flights grounded. Sunday there was continuing chaos with weddings halted, honeymoons spent at the Terminals and general misery for anyone trying to fly anywhere. By Monday long haul flights were restored and by Tues night a regular service had resumed. A miracle for us followed by another as when we got to the gate to board we had been bumped ... Up to business class! Sheer luxury indeed. Feet up, head down and a good sleep
12 hours later we had landed in cape town
Where the winter is full of blooms
Lots of them
Lots and lots of them
And blue skies above... Though since this we have had the first rain of the year here which has been much needed as the reservoirs are well down to drought levels
We had a celebratory dinner at the restaurant with local friends as a wedding anniversary party
The chocolate cake tastes amazing. We had chicken pie and lovely veg and a trifle of trifle for pud. Bubbly all round. It has been a lovely celebration.
Heading off to walk off some calories
We saw dassies
Dolphins (you'll just have to trust us)
A gorgeous sunset
And some glowing not-red-hot-pokers
The sunset over the mountains behind...
And to all a good night! Xxx
